Back to school

Well of course September began with everyone heading back to school...and this year this meant Quincy too.  It was so fun, unreal, and a lit bit teary that all my kids are now in school.  Everyone was super excited to get back to school, see their friends and meet their new teachers.

Kendall wished us a "happy back to school" too

And as always the kids left home with their "kissing hands" to know I am thinking of them

We also had a fall full of soccer and football.  It was the tale of two soccer stories...Alli the "veteran" had a fun tournament in Sandpoint and Quincy the "rookie" cried thru nearly her entire first practice/game.  However, after the first week things got better for Quincy and she was all smiles by the end of the season :)

We still babysit Kendall 1 day a week and get to spend 1 day at mimi's with her too.  All of the kids are always fighting over who gets to sit by her, get her dressed for the day, put her shoes on etc.  Jeter even did her pigtails one day.  She is never lacking for attention from this direction.  Here a few reading lesson pics.  This is the only time Jeter loves reading enough to choose it over Suite Life of Zack and Cody :)

We finished up the month with a fun trip to Vegas with Keith and Meghan.  We finally went to a Cirque show and loved it.  I did feel a little guilty knowing how much Rece would have loved it.  Those amazing feet are definitely his calling

And if that does not work out for him, we found some street performers he would fit in nicely with :)

See you soon for fall outings, pumpkins and all things Halloween....

Wrapping up a great year...5th grade, 4th grade, 2nd grade and pre-school here we come!!

August is alway a really fun and busy month for us.  I know you are thinking "what month are the Schuermans not busy?"  But August is a different kind of busy.  A relaxing, family-time kind of busy.  Alex is done coaching, we take a break from sports and Kelli takes a few days off...so we travel, hang out and just have some good ol' fashion summer fun.

OK, OK,OK....Not totally sports free.  Mostly just soccer tournaments.  Alli's team had a succussful summer tournament season, with some hardware to show for it

If anyone has been around Rece for even 2 minutes this summer you would know he has spent very little time on his feet.  He is doing cartwheels, handstands, handsprings and round offs (and other "dangerous when you have no idea what you are doing" kind of moves).   Anywhere and everywhere.  Some one asked me "how do you let him do that"  I said "well I don't...I just looked over one day, catching him in the middle of some crazy feat and thought oh..I guess Rece knows how to flip...it is just in him!!"

Of course we had fun with the "old" August stand-bys (camping, silverwood, stoneridge,Rece's bday, school shopping etc).  But truth be told they are anything but "old".  As the kids get bigger each event changes a bit, and we get to do more big kid things.

But of course, August had some NEW activities for the Schuerman's. Alli and Jeter went to their first overnight church camp (had a blast)

And Jeter sported a mowhalk

As I look back over the blog from this last year I am yet again amazed how blessed we are.  Yes there are tough days, but I look back at the pics it reminds me of how each of these moments have changed us for the better.  Thanks for being a part of our ROOKIE year :)

Sports, birthdays, sports, swimming, sports...YEP THAT's JULY

We really did more than that as July was Jam packed...but guess the camera only made it to a few select events.  So in a nutshell here it is....

Alli was super busy with softball as her season was coming to a close.  She also played in a 3 v 3 soccer tournament as a guest player for a "sister team" .

Jeter extended his baseball season by making the 9U all-star team.  They did amazingly well... finishing 1st in the practice tournament in Wenatchee, then winning the state tournament and advancing as the Washington state representatives to the regional all-star tournament in CA.  It was an amazing opportunity...Jeter made some great new friendships (see if you can catch the team bonding "lets all pee together" pic) and he had such a wonderful time.  Great memories :)

Alex also got to glow as a coach as Tucker...who is near and dear to our whole family...signed on to play at Blue Mountain.  You may also want to see a more "musically inclined" side to some of Alex's baseball players.  This you tube video has had tons of hits (3/4 of which are from Quincy...it has even passed up "Good Luck Charlie" on her favorites list).  From what I hear they actually did get some cool stuff from the band who sings the song...that's pretty fun.

We also spent 2 weeks in swim lessons, where Quincy jumped leaps and bounds into a full fledged swimmer....YES we may be raising a school of fish!

We also celebrated cousin Kendall's 2nd birthday.  She is all smiles and we love her to pieces.

I WANT TO EXTEND A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED SUPPORT JETER IN HIS FUNDRAISING EFFORTS TO GO TO CALIFORNIA FOR THE REGIONAL TOURNAMENT.  YOU HELPED MAKE SOME VERY SPECIAL MEMORIES!!  THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEART :)

On to August....bring on the heat !!
